Happy Monday Everyone!!!!
Hope you had a good weekend. My weekend was boring....good but boring. D was home and my son was off to his dad's so we were down to one kiddo and a bunch of rainy cold weather.
D if you didn't know drives 18 wheeler trucks for a living. At the end of 2011, he bought his first 18 wheeler (YEAH!!!!). He is living his dream and I'm so excited for him.
This truck / trucking business is about to kill me. It speeds up...it slows down....it speeds up....it slows down. Where is the consistency with this industry?
He gets a good load to North Dakota gets loads all the way back and good money is made....and then he gets a load to California (I have decided loads to CA are evil) and can't ever get anything back. It wasn't so bad when he was driving someone else's truck because we weren't hit with the fuel or maintenance / repair costs. Now that he is the "owner"...OUCH is all I can say.
Just when we get ahead we get knocked down. I know this will never be the easy life and we aren't trying to be rich but come on now. Please point me to the nearest middle ground. It's not easy to make a truck note when you have 2 loads in two weeks and they are all inside the state of Texas.
D is already talking about buying a second truck once this one is paid off. I don't know if I can handle it. I don't like grey hair and they say stress causes it. I'm going to look 90 by the time I hit 35 lol.
Oh well at least one of us gets to live their dream and I am so thankful for that.
Well this month is full of birthdays!!!!
Take care everyone!!!!
