My Local Dirt Bag Parent

Ok yes two in one day........

My daughter was so fortunte to be granted a dirt bag dad......I shouldn't even call him a dad.  Actually me and a couple of friends referred to him as a donor or financial source.  He has lost the second title since he forgot that she exists and that it costs money to raise a child.  He will poke his head up sometimes if he is sends in a few dollars.

I look back and think where were the signs....was I so blind?  He was good...he successfully pulled the wool over my eyes.  If you watched him with his 2 older kids, you would never have thought he was a dirt bag dad but he is.   He has another son which he signed his rights away to years and years ago...he is a great kid and has a great mom.  He is a selective dad.

He hasn't seen my daughter since March and I know some people are thinking that isn't THAT long ago but take into account that before his March visit it was July 2010 that he saw her for 15 mins.  He has missed 2 out of 3 of her birthdays...never seen her on Christmas Eve or Day....only seen her on one turkey day but that was for a few hours so do you count it?  The Easter Bunny has never been to his house to leave her some candy or eggs to find.  I got a text last Halloween asking what she dressed up as.  He sent that while he was on the other side of the neighborhood trick or treating with his other kids.

Up until a few months ago he lived across the neighborhood from us.  Standing on my drive way you can see the tree in his neighbors' yard.  How can a person live 5 mins from your kid and never see them? Never wonder what he or she is doing.  I wonder about her all the time...I wonder even know what is she doing at daycare...is she laughing...dancing....eating...sleeping.....

He has said before that he wants to sign his rights away. Well come on State of Texas pass a law that lets him do it without conditions.  He tells me I know I've messed up with her. Well duh but doesn't usually I will work on it or be a better person come after that.  I'm still waiting to hear that one.

I used to pray for him to come around but my prayers now are for him to never show his face again. I know one day I will have to explain everything to her but how could I ever explain to her that I told him it is okay to be a dirt bag.  I do thank god for my new friend, Laura.  She was in the same boat with the same dirt bag as me several years ago and her wisdom has helped me ALOT.  I know there is peace somewhere in the future.

I would fix it right side...not sure how too lol

So to K's dirt bag or donor or whatever name I think of today...you are losing out on one GREAT INCREDIBLE KID.  When she becomes famous, you will be nothing but a face in the crowd to all of us.
